The Par 3 Paradox

Par-3-sign
In commercials, promotions or jingles, we often hear the phrase, “It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!” However, in the case of par 3 holes in golf, it could be said that “it’s as difficult as 1, 2, 3.” Many people find par 3’s to be one of the toughest holes since there’s less chance for recovery from a bad shot.

The key to doing well on a par 3 is accuracy. Know which iron to pull to get you to the green, and then make sure you hit it straight. In your practice routine, your efforts to create a flat wristed position will serve you well. Think in terms of not only hitting the green but having the accuracy to leave yourself a short putt. Also, thank about having the right distance. Once you do this, you’ll be on the right track to scoring well on a par 3.
